As part of the ongoing railroad portal widening project, Summit Environmental Contractors has provided the transportation and disposal for Contaminated and Hazardous Materials, including the successful removal of more than 25,000 tons of contaminated soil, 2,000 tons of hazardous soil, and 100 tons of railroad ties and ballasts. Summit has also collected and analyzed more than 150+ soil samples in order to determine the appropriate disposal classification for excavated soil. This project is scheduled to run through 2023 with the estimated project budget at $650 Million.
