As part of a railroad portal widening project, Summit Environmental Contractors provided the transportation and disposal for more than 12,500 tons of Contaminated and Hazardous Materials, including the successful removal of more than 10,000 tons of contaminated soil, 2,500 tons of hazardous soil, and 100 tons of railroad ties and ballasts. Summit also collected and analyzed more than 75 soil samples in order to determine the appropriate disposal classification for excavated soil. This project is scheduled to run through 2023.
