Summit provided environmental consulting and contracting services as part of the Orange County Transportation Authority Orangethorpe Avenue Grade Separation project. The project consisted of raising the Orangethorpe Avenue roadway over the BNSF tracks to provide a grade-separated crossing. Summit’s scope of services included reviewing existing environmental reports for the site, preparation of a Lead Compliance Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Soil Sampling and Analysis Plan, Excavation Transportation Plan, soil sample collection along city streets, air monitoring, soil analysis and characterization, and stockpile sampling. Statistical analysis and perceived options for hazardous material disposal and reuse were completed by Summit. In addition, Summit excavated, transported, and disposed of over 200,000 tons of nonhazardous and heavy and KHDY\ metals impacted California-hazardous soil.
