Summit provided both in charge environmental consulting and contracting services as part of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Placentia Avenue Grade Separation project.  This was the first of seven-grade separation projects along the BNSF/Orangethorpe Corridor being constructed in the Orange County Bridges program. The construction project consisted of lowering the Placentia Avenue roadway under the BNSF tracks to provide a grade-separated crossing. Construction of bypass tracks and a temporary detour road were necessary to construct the Project. Summit’s scope of services included the completion of the following plans; Site-Specific Health and Safety Plan, Sample and Analysis Plan, and Soil Excavation Management Plan.  The field services included soil sample collection along 5,300 feet of track, soil analysis and characterization, and stockpile sampling, in addition to the transportation and disposal for over 130,000 tons of non-hazardous and California Hazardous soil.

The project consisted of raising the Orangethorpe Avenue roadway over the BNSF tracks to provide a grade-separated crossing. Summit’s scope of services included soil sample collection, characterization, and options for hazardous material disposal. Summit ultimately provided the  transportation and disposal for more than 200,000 tons of non-hazardous and California hazardous material.

 

Summit provided environmental contracting and consulting services as part of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Raymond Avenue Grade Separation project. Consulting services included soil sample collection along approximately 4,800 feet of railroad track and public right of way, soil testing and waste characterization. Summit also provided  statistical analysis and the transportation and disposal of of non-hazardous soil and 80,000 tons of contaminated and hazardous material.

As part of the ongoing railroad portal widening project, Summit Environmental Contractors has provided the transportation and disposal for Contaminated and Hazardous Materials, including the successful removal of more than 15,000 tons of contaminated soil, 2,000 tons of hazardous soil, and 100 tons of railroad ties and ballasts. Summit has also collected and analyzed more than 75 soil samples in order to determine the appropriate disposal classification for excavated soil. This project is scheduled to run through 2023 with the estimated project budget at $650 Million.

Orange County California –(BUSINESS WIRE)– Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE:TPC) awarded SEC a five million dollar contract to provide material sampling and logistical support services. Under the contract, SEC will sample and analyze more than 1200 material samples and provide transportation and disposal for more than 20,000 tons of contaminated and hazardous materials.

The Division Portal Turnback Project is a $439.8 Million project for the LACMTA. The Proposed Project will widen the existing portal for the Metro Red and Purple Lines Maintenance Yard (Division 20 Rail yard), including construction of column for high-speed trail in the portal area and a new ventilation shaft building, develop a high capacity turnback facility, increase train storage capacity, and reconfigure the existing internal tracks and access roads. The improvements would provide core capacity improvements to accommodate increased service levels previously approved for the Metro red and Purple Lines and allow trains to provide a faster service time at Union Station.

(NYSE:HOCFF) SEC will provide a broad range of intergraded logistics support and sustainment service, helping to modernize the pure water needs for the North City Water Reclamation Plant. The single award contract has a value of up to $1.5 million.

The Morena Pump Station and Pipelines project is a $123 million enterprise designed to increase wastewater flows to the North City Water Reclamation Plant (NCWRP), which will require 52 million gallons per day of wastewater to meet both Pure Water and recycled water needs. A wastewater pump station will be built at the intersection of Sherman Street and Custer, near Morena Boulevard.

Two wastewater pipelines will also be constructed: one pipeline will transport wastewater from the pump station to the NCWRP and one will transport salts and contaminants (brine) from the NCWRP to the Point Loma Wastewater Treatment Plant. This project will also include the construction of two water pipelines, a water distribution pipeline, and a water transmission pipeline, which will run parallel to the wastewater pipelines along West Morena Boulevard and Morena Boulevard.

Project to provide plans, project oversight, mobilization and transportation & disposal of over 108,000 tons of contaminated and hazardous material. The work is scheduled to begin in the 4th quarter of 2021.

The Fullerton Road Grade project is a $144 million project that eliminates the existing at-grade crossing in the City of Industry crossing the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Los Angeles Subdivision and Metrolink (Riverside Line) at UPRR milepost (MP) 21.43 through construction of a combination of railroad flyover and roadway underpass. A Railroad Street overcrossing and pedestrian bridge south of the railroad bridge will be constructed. The project would eliminate delays for emergency responders and crossing collisions. The project would also reduce emissions and improve regional air quality, eliminate locomotive horn and crossing bell noise and decrease idling automobiles stopped at the existing Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR).
