At Summit we understand the critical importance of efficient and sustainable environmental remediation solutions. Our Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) services employ the leading extraction technologies to address soil and groundwater contamination effectively.

What is SVE?

SVE, a highly effective method devised by environmental specialists to mitigate soil vapors. SVE proves to be a reliable solution in scenarios where volatile organic compounds (VOCs), industrial byproducts, petroleum derivatives like gasoline, or dry-cleaning chemicals infiltrate the soil.

In areas where access is limited, structures are present, and the magnitude of contaminated prevents other remedial options, SVE Technologies is the perfect candidate.

Why SVE?

It is important to recognize the harmful effects of chemical vapors on human health, which may vary depending on the level of exposure. When these substances accumulate indoors, they can cause adverse health effects such as nausea, headaches, and respiratory irritation, as well as pose potential structural risks.

We invite you to contact our team to explore how our Soil Vapor Extraction services can address your remediation needs. We are here to help move your project forward.

Our approach to cleanup technology weighs several critical factors, including the extent of the contamination, geological conditions, proven effectiveness, and overall cost of each effort.

Our services are highly customizable based on individual circumstances and contamination levels.

At Summit Environmental Contractors, we pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive range of environmental services. This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on our Dewatering Services – a critical component of various projects where the management of groundwater is essential.

What is Dewatering?

Dewatering is the process of removing water from a construction site, industrial setting, or any area where the presence of excess groundwater could pose challenges or risks.  Whether it’s for excavation, underground utilities installation, or waste management, dewatering plays a pivotal role.

The Importance of Dewatering:

  • Stability and Safety: Removing excess water helps maintain the stability of excavation sites and prevents soil erosion, landslides, and sinkholes.
  • Construction Efficiency: Dry conditions enable construction work to proceed more efficiently, reducing delays.
  • Environmental Responsibility: Proper dewatering ensures that water is managed responsibly, minimizing environmental impact.
  • Health Hazards: Failing to properly manage and dewater contaminated groundwater can pose significant health risks. Contaminated groundwater can contain a variety of pollutants, chemicals, and pathogens that, if left untreated and uncontrolled, can lead to adverse health effects.

Our Dewatering Services:

Summit Environmental Contractors offers a wide range of dewatering services tailored to the specific needs of each project:

Environmental Responsibility:

We understand the importance of responsible groundwater management. Our dewatering practices are designed to prevent any adverse environmental impacts. This includes proper disposal of dewatering byproducts and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

The Summit Difference:

Our team of experts has the knowledge and experience to handle dewatering projects of all sizes. We take pride in delivering efficient and environmentally responsible solutions.

Whether it’s an infrastructure, construction site, industrial project, or an environmental remediation, our dewatering services ensure that contaminated groundwater is managed efficiently, effectively, and sustainably.

For more information on our Dewatering Services or to discuss your specific project needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

This month, we are proud to feature Dave Aronne as the founder of Summit Environmental Contractors. Dave has over 40 years of experience in the field and is passionate about sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Summit has always upheld the same values since its inception – Safety, Service, and Quality.

In his early days, Dave worked for International Technology, a company that developed cutting-edge processes in the environmental industry. He fondly remembers that time as unique and exciting.

“We were trailblazers and trying things that had never been done before.”-David Aronne.

Under Dave’s leadership, Summit Environmental is now the top provider of environmental services to infrastructure contractors in California.

Summit Environmental will be working on a 12-acre space located in downtown Los Angeles, under and adjacent to the Sixth Street Viaduct. This new public space will have various amenities, including two dog parks, a skate park, a performing arts plaza, soccer fields, and a large playground for children. People of all ages can enjoy this new public space.

“I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given to help our communities and improve our infrastructure needs. Together, we can make California a better place for generations to come.” -David Aronne

Dave is an avid outdoorsman and frequently speaks on sustainability and environmental responsibility. He also founded the non-profit organization Race4theEnvironment, which aims to address community environmental issues such as water quality and lead awareness programs for schools.

We are honored to feature Dave in this month’s newsletter and are excited to see what remarkable achievements he will attain.

Summit has partnered with Granite Construction to work on the San Jose International Airport Phase 1A Taxiway Expansion Project. This Project includes the off-hauling of 13500 tons of Non-RCRA hazardous material and 1688 tons of Non-Hazardous contaminated material.

Summit’s scope of work includes both consulting and contracting services as follows:

  • Excavation and Transportation Plan Preparation
  • Waste Profiling for both contaminated and Hazardous material
  • Transportation and Waste Disposal Services

The history of the Airport and the vicinity of the Airport begins with the first historical settlement in the Santa Clara Valley, which is the founding of the Mission Santa Clara on the banks of the Guadalupe River in 1777. After the secularization of the Mission, some of the subject lands were incorporated into Rancho El Potrero de Santa Clara and the rest of the land into Pueblo Lands of San José. Most of the area south of Brokaw Road remained part of the large Stockton Ranch.

Between 1940 and 1943, the City of San José purchased 483 acres of the Stockton Ranch as a site for a Municipal Airport. Between 1946 and 1961, the Airport facilities were limited to the area located between Newhall and Brokaw Roads. 1957 the Guadalupe River was straightened and channelized, providing more usable land Amendment to Airport Master Plan 145 Integrated Final EIR.

Summit takes the guesswork out of the equation by quantifying environmental issues before construction and implementing the solution.

Summit specializes in the following services:

  • Plan preparation

  • Sampling and testing of soil and groundwater
  • Waste characterization and profiling
  • Transportation and disposal
  • Onsite Air monitoring
  • OSHA 40-Hour HazMat/Lead Awareness training
