The planned construction for the project includes an extension to the existing rail bridge, five new railroad storage tracks, an asphalt access roadway, new crossovers and switches, as well as modifications to the existing compressed air system of the Pier 400 rail storage yard and bridge.

Prior to construction Summit will perform the following services:

  • Plan Preparation – (HaSP & SAP)

Summit’s goal is to seamlessly integrate environmental services for public works infrastructure projects allowing the progression of our highways, ports and railroads to continue smoothly as we help create safer environments for both workers and the general public.

Summit is helping rebuild and improve California’s outdated bridges and highways. As our highways and bridges continue to deteriorate with heavy use, it is our duty to ensure they are functional and safe through infrastructure projects.  The traffic is not going to disappear or fix itself unless we continue to update and restore a vital part of our day to day lives.

From plans and profiling, air monitoring and training, dewatering and excavation, Summit is ready and capable to provide any service you need having 20 years of experience in the environmental and infrastructure industry.

More than half the bridges in California are rated to be in “Fair or Poor Condition”. These ratings are based on a few variables such as cracks, concrete loss and the need to repaint. That is not up to our standard at Summit. Modernizing bridges is essential to our Nation to keep our economy and supply chains running smoothly and for our day to day activities.

With a record backlog of projects, Summit is rebuilding California and improving bridge and community safety one project at a time. You can read the full article HERE and also view some of our past bridge and bikeways projects HERE.
