Orange County Feeder Relining Project – Orange & LA County, CA
Summit has been awarded another contract with Spiniello Infrastructure West, Inc. This project is part of the Orange County Feeder Relining Project with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan).
The Orange County Feeder (OFC) is 22 miles long, helping bring treated water to the LA and OC communities. The pipeline was installed in the 1940s with a coal tare enamel (CTE) lining.
The lining of these pipes is nearing the end of its life and needs replacement. Without proper replacement, CTE-related failures could cause shutdowns of the pipelines and contamination of its communities.
The current CTE is being replaced with an effective cathodic proposed system for corrosion prevention. This project will reline around 9.5 miles of mortar lining.
Summit is helping to analyze the site and has already disposed of 20.3 tons of contaminated and hazardous waste, with more on its way.
Our scope of work includes the following:
- Site Investigation, Sampling & Waste Profiling.
- Dewatering & Liquid Handling.
- Transportation and Waste Disposal Services.
- Material Sampling, Testing, and Characterization.
We are so grateful for the opportunities we have been given. Summit continues to do its part in creating safer environments for our families and making strides toward improving our infrastructure efficiently and cleanly.
